In the fourth quarter of 2021, the leading business apps on the Android platform in South Africa exhibited diverse trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 business apps, according to Sensor Tower data.

Zoom Workplace saw an initial increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 28.7K in mid-October before gradually declining to 7.4K by the end of December. Weekly active users also showed a slight decline from approximately 342K at the start of the quarter to 292K in the last week of December.

Microsoft Teams experienced a decline in weekly downloads over the quarter, starting at 24.9K and dropping to 2.7K by the end of December. Active users decreased from 91K to approximately 69K during the same period.

Resume Builder App, CV maker had a fluctuating download trend, peaking at 16.1K in mid-October and ending the quarter at 5.8K. Active users followed a similar pattern, with a high of 61.6K in mid-October and a dip to 35K by the end of December.

LinkedIn: Jobs & Business News saw steady weekly revenue growth, peaking at around $1.9K in the last week of December. Downloads started at 12.8K and fell to 5.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 329K and 367K.

Adobe Scan: PDF Scanner, OCR had a consistent revenue stream, peaking at $143 in late October. Downloads were highest at 12.5K in early October and decreased to around 4.9K by the end of December. Active users showed a slight decrease from 58K to 44.9K throughout the quarter.
